About
Meet Tonia Beard
I moved to Colorado over 30 years ago to attend graduate school at Colorado State University. My plan was to return to the west coast after graduating, but I fell in love with the Rocky Mountains and Front Range of Colorado. I am married and have two children (young adults- 19 & 21). Raising children and being a teacher, in my past life, has had a tremendous impact on my counseling practice and how I support my clients and families.
Who are my Clients
01.
Growing up can be hard work! I work with young people to build resilience that will last a lifetime. I find that youth appreciate talking things through to help them make sense of a seemingly senseless world. Some areas of focus in therapy with young people are emotional regulation, communication and social skill building, and behavior modification.

Being a grown up is no walk in the park either! I help adults continue to develop resilience, so that they can face life’s most complex circumstances while staying rooted in their strengths. I find that incorporating body awareness with self-understanding helps adults to grow their resilience and improve relationships, moods, and self confidence. Some areas of focus in adult therapy are emotion regulation, conflict resolution, habit changing, and trauma resolution.

Navigating school systems is not easy. After working for over 30 years as a mental health professional and educator, I have a great deal of experience working with this system. I also raised two children who "survived" the school system to become successful adults navigating the world. 504's, IEP's and improving communication with your child's school.
